Carolina signs Jill Townsend, ex Champagne

Gigantes de Carolina (BSNF) signed 25-year old American guard Jill Townsend (180cm-1998, college: Gonzaga). Townsend played last season at Champagne in French LF2 league. In 17 games she was league's fifth best scorer with impressive 16.0ppg and averaged 6.4rpg, 2.7apg and 1.8spg. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. 2022-23 was a great season as she was named to Eurobasket.com French LF2 All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week.
Townsend has played also professionally in Germany (Osnabrueck). Her team won WCC Tournament in 2018 and 2021.
She was also voted All-WCC Player of the Year back in 2020.
Townsend graduated from Gonzaga University in 2021 and it will be her third season as a professional player.
